I've also found that not all .exe files contain .cab files that can
be extracted using FileJuicer.
I have an Intel MacBook and have installed Parallels and Windows XP.
There I installed ActiveSync. While in Windows (gasp!) I run
the .exe PocketPC application and let it install. ActiveSync launches
and says it will be installed on the next sync.
While you can install programs this way, I find it a little buggy to
sync my pda/phone with two computers, since there are always notices
of conflicts with MissingSync that arise.
So, in Windows I do a search for "*.cab" and locate the program I
just installed. I then copy the .cab file into make and then to the
SD card on my pda, then install it on the phone.
In writing this, it sounds like a HUGE amount of work, but it
actually doesn't take that long. Also, by copying all the CAB files
to a separate folder I have on my memory card on my phone/pda, I've
got a back up of all of the applications so it's easy to reinstall
later if need be.
Well...it works for me...
