Thanks for passing on this work around, and good troubleshooting!
There are two methods of dragging and dropping files to install them
with the Missing Sync. 1) Via the Finder and 2) Dragging files to the
Install pane.
I assume when you were dragging and dropping the files you were
dragging them to a folder on the mounted device using the Finder?
This method uses WebDAV to copy files to and from the device. It can
be slow and buggy.
If you haven't tried dragging and dropping files onto the Missing
Sync window or ican, give that a try. This method installs files
using different code and should be faster and more reliable. You can
also use the Install Files preferences to direct where you want files
to install on the device based on their file type. If you had
problems installing files using this method, let me know.
