[missing-sync-winmobile-talk] Syncing new Verizon Motorola Q to Mac

You may have to start at <http://direct.motorola.com> and navigate to  
the update that is available, as it looks as if Motorola has changed  
some things.

Turning off the phone via the wireless manager is likely turning BT  
off as well (if you don't have the latest Q update) and that would be  
the root of the problem.
