[missing-sync-winmobile-talk] A trip down memory lane

Hi all,
I just spend the better part of my weekend getting Missing Sync to work
with my t-Mobile MDA Vario. Reminded me of my pre-Mac Windows days, when
you had to schedule several hours a month to reinstall the OS, re-format
your drive, re-download drivers, re-store partial backups, re-contact
techsupport and re-pay for features that were really bugfixes. ;-)
Anyway, I cheered so loud when I finally got the bugger working that I
rudely awoke the whole family in the middle of the night.
Finally, I would appreciate it if someone (anyone?) could explain to me
why the uninstaller (that you have to install first, also really
Windows-like logic in the same vein as clicking on the start button to
shut down your PC) doesn't uninstall all instances of the program. I ran
the damn thing, searched and destroyed all instances of MarkSpace as well
as Missing Sync leftovers on my drive, downloaded and installed a fresh
copy of the software. Guess what? It automatically reconfigured itself
based on my old settings...
Thanks in advance,
Henk
