You can find the 2.5.2b1 beta at www.markspace.com/testing. We are testing a final 2.5.2 build that has more fixes since the 2.5.2b1 build and hope to release that soon. The 2.5.2 release is free to all 2.0.x and 2.5 users. I assume these issues are also fixed in the 3.0 release? I was unaware that my handheld could even do some of what you've mentioned. I barely use notes as the program is faulty and scans the entire device every time for all sounds and notes files. Would TMS 3.0 bug out and sync all of those files then to my computer? I don't really want them, just the ones I've created. I am rarely able to visit the forums, and while the RSS reader suggested is an all right fix, it still doesn't beat e-mail for something like this. -FF Brian M. See log. I shut down Missing Sync, removed the device and started over. This time sync appeared to be working. On the first sync under 3.0, I checked the overwrite box and clicked Allow. I now have two of every contact on my Dell X30 WM2003 (2nd Edition). I was never prompted for the overwrite on the calendar or tasks (thank goodness). Once again, MarkSpace has wasted my time and my money. It will take forever to eliminate the duplicates and I fear another sync will make triplicates. -- Jay Levenson SSTi 703 White Horse Rd., Suite 1 Voorhees, NJ 08043 856-679-0490 x211 From vlcofa at gmail.com Fri Nov 10 18:18:33 2006 From: vlcofa at gmail.com (VLCofA) Date: Fri Nov 10 16:18:42 2006 Subject: [missing-sync-winmobile-talk] 3.0 Duplicate contacts on first sync In-Reply-To: <8229FB83-B4F0-4157-AC0C-50927D35F6CC@s-s-t-i.com> Message-ID: Did you you do what the tell you to do in the first sentence of the READ ME file and the first sentence of the installer window: back up? So I could recover from that point. The issue is that it takes almost an hour to download all contacts from my Mac to the Dell and there is no assurance that it will not fail again. Ultimately, I did a Contacts only refresh to the Dell (another hour) and it did work. But this problem has appeared each time there is a new release of Missing Sync. It NEVER goes smoothly. > Message: 2 > Date: Fri, 10 Nov 2006 16:18:33 -0800 > From: VLCofA > Subject: Re: [missing-sync-winmobile-talk] 3.0 Duplicate contacts on > first sync > To: The Missing Sync for Windows Mobile Discussion List > > Message-ID: > Content-Type: text/plain; charset="ISO-8859-1" > > Did you you do what the tell you to do in the first sentence of the > READ ME > file and the first sentence of the installer window: back up? > > I don?t like that feeling that I NEED to back up, but I?ve had some > problems, too, and so I DO back up. Reminded me of my pre-Mac Windows days, when you had to schedule several hours a month to reinstall the OS, re-format your drive, re-download drivers, re-store partial backups, re-contact techsupport and re-pay for features that were really bugfixes. ;-) Anyway, I cheered so loud when I finally got the bugger working that I rudely awoke the whole family in the middle of the night. Finally, I would appreciate it if someone (anyone?) could explain to me why the uninstaller (that you have to install first, also really Windows-like logic in the same vein as clicking on the start button to shut down your PC) doesn't uninstall all instances of the program. I ran the damn thing, searched and destroyed all instances of MarkSpace as well as Missing Sync leftovers on my drive, downloaded and installed a fresh copy of the software. Guess what? It automatically reconfigured itself based on my old settings... Thanks in advance, Henk From bcriscuolo at markspace.com Mon Nov 13 10:11:43 2006 From: bcriscuolo at markspace.com (Brian M. We agree that this is confusing and dumb, but we are using the Apple Installer/Uninstaller and this wording cannot be changed by the developer. For our Palm version we stopped using the Apple uninstaller and wrote our own. We will do that some day for Windows Mobile too, but for now there are bigger fish to fry.
