[missing-sync-winmobile-talk] Problems Syncing Samsung i730

I'm looking for other users of the i730 who have succeeded at
synching with the device.
After a period of trying during the early betas, I'd given up trying
to get my device to sync, but now I've started up again.
I've hard reset my device and uninstalled and reinstalled the
MissingSync software, used the MSSyncUtil to reset the associations.
All to no avail. At this point, I'm only trying to sync my calendar.
What I notice is that it reads the calendar events out of the device,
then reads the ones off of the laptop. To simplify stuff I've
cleared my iCal calendar of any events and created a clean, new
default calendar. After writing one entry in the log after reading
the desktop events, it says the connection has been reset by the peer.
See below:

I've tried all the suggestions from tech support with no luck. I'm
thinking of getting a WM5 device -- at least I'd have no expectations
of actually being able to sync :)!
Thanks.
