[missing-sync-winmobile-talk] Odd problem

This happened to me for the second time now:

I added a contact to the handheld. Later I synced with the Mac, 
expecting that the new contact would be copied to the Addressbook. The 
opposite happened, the contact was deleted from the handheld.

How do I prevent this from happening?
