Yes the ROM is customized for the USA - note T-Mobile don't seem to have informed anyone - I found this using a link I found on XDA-developers forums (can't get to the site at this time for the actual link details but I believe the download link is www.t-mobileapps.com/downloadcenter/software_download.cfm).

As to connections I've had no issues recently, with early betas I did but 2.5 work OK both via USB and BT with MSWM. Note other programs have issues, I've yet to get Parallels to work
