If nothing else, Missing Sync had been quite an
adventure. Every time I sync, or I should say, attempt
to sync, I get a different result. I don't think the
same thing has happened twice in a row in over a
hundred attempts. Sometimes, it deletes every contact
on my device. Other times, it duplicates every entry
on my calendar. Then I try a new beta and it will
changes things on my computer that shouldn't be
changed. Like when supposedly it fixed the problem
that more than one child in a contact listing wouldn't
sync. That got fixed. It just deleted all but one from
the address book on the Mac!
If nothing else, I sure have learned to make backups!
I don't send in the logs because it would take up all
of my time just uploading all that info since each one
is different and complex.
Every now and then, somehow I get a proper sync. I
just wish that would happen regularly.
In all my years of computing (dating to CP/M), I've
never seen such uppredictable behavior in a program.
One really big suggestion: My favorite backup program
is Synchronize Pro X. It has one feature that should
be part of every backup or sync program, but I've
never seen anywhere else. It SHOWS every change it's
going to make and lets you overrule any or every one
of them before it actually does anything to your data.
