What I did to get this to work was dropped back to the last release
and ran the utility to release the current settings.  I deleted all
the prior plists and the Microsoft plist that looked like it was
responsible for Entorage hijacking the data.  I had to reboot but have
just run two syncs without rebooting.  There may have been an
undeleted preferences list when I did try to sych with that (not that
I use it).  I've got Entourage popping up with my appointments and
tasks so what do I have to eliminate if the current working on this
doesn't solve things.

It's also syncing while the radio is enabled, which it wasn't doing
before.  I'd suggest checking for plists set by programs that one
isn't using and using the utility to reset what does what.
