[missing-sync-winmobile-talk] Missing Sync Mobile First Sync
Disaster

I'm a previous user of Missing Sync 1.0.4, although since tech
support at Markspace never managed to get to the bottom of the
drifting events problem that I had, the way I'd been using it was as
a one way connection, dumping my contacts and diary onto the PocketPC
by using the iSync reset device option.
Anyway, I did the Tiger upgrade today, having previously uninstalled
Missing Sync. I took a backup of my boot drive, and did an erase and
install for Tiger, and then used the migration wizard to pull my
users across. After Tiger was all set up and running I then installed
the new version of Missing Sync, 2.0.1.
All seemed to be going well, my Dell Axim X50v was recognised, and I
again opted for a complete rebuild. Missing Sync blanked down and
transferred my contacts - much quicker than the old version, and then
moved onto my calendar. It got to between 200 and 300 events with a
steady clocking up of the number, but then produced a sudden turn of
speed. However when it had finished I had a couple of scattered
events, and a stack of errors in the log. Basically it reached a
point where it just started producing an error on every event.
I've followed the instructions on the support page to restore my iCal
from the backup, and tried again - same problem, but with a different
selection of events. On top of that I can't find an option anywhere
to reset the data on the device. I've put in a support request with
the relevant log files.
To be honest at this point I am really annoyed. I needed to upgrade
to Tiger, and was hopeful that the new version of Missing Sync would
actually sync, or at the very least allow me to carry on as before,
however this is significantly worse. At least with the old version I
could get a copy of my iCal schedule onto the PDA cleanly, even if I
couldn't send modifications back.
