[missing-sync-winmobile-talk] Error syncing with 2.0.2 and OSX 10.3.9

I get this error while syncing a iPaq h6340 with a PC running OS  
10.3.9. What does this mean and how can I correct it?

Can't synchronize calendars and To Do items to Pocket_PC: device is  
not available
  Can't synchronize calendars and To Do items to Sturlas_PPC: device  
is not available
  Conduit SturlasPPC generated exception NSInvalidArgumentException:  
*** -[NSConcreteMutableData initWithCapacity:]: absurd capacity:  
-1583242847, maximum size: -2147483648 bytes.
  can't connect to the device to synchronize ThenewPPC.
