[missing-sync-pocketpc-talk] iPAQ 3635 Calendar wont load after sync

My wife has a calendar in iCal that would put most CEO's to shame.  multiple
calendars, hundreds of events.

After syncing the calendar app will not load on the iPAQ, it says not enough
app memory, but there is plenty free.

I can use find to see the appointments and events no problem, but the
recurring items (birthdays, anniversaries, etc...) won't open, one time
events will though.  The error says that it may have been deleted.  I have
tried to open the occurrence and the series, same result.

Is there something I am missing, like specifying a range of data to sync or
... ?
I have set all recurring events to stop after 3 times in iCal.

Any help is greatly appreciated.
