Hello,
We would like to give you an updated ETA on The Missing Sync for Windows
Mobile. Though we had hoped to ship this month, additional development and
testing are necessary before we ship the software. As a result, we have
pushed back the availability date for The Missing Sync for Windows Mobile to
next month.
We know that this is not the news that you were hoping for, and we hope that
you can accept our decision to ship when the software is ready, and not
before.
Stay tuned for additional updates as they become available. The mini-FAQ
below answers many of the questions we have been receiving lately.
Thanks much.
Eric

Missing Sync for Windows Mobile (MSWM) Mini-FAQ
Q: When will MSWM be released?
A: We expect to complete testing and ship in July, 2005.
Q: What devices will MSWM support?
A: Pocket PC and smartphone devices running Pocket PC 2002 (now called
Windows Mobile 2002) or Windows Mobile/Pocket PC 2003 (including Second
Edition) will be supported in this release. We plan to support Windows
Mobile 5.0 devices with a later release.
Q: What versions of Mac OS X will MSWM support?
A: 10.3.9 "Panther" and 10.4.x "Tiger".
Q: What personal information management (PIM) applications on the Mac will
be supported with MSWM?
A: Address Book, iCal and Microsoft Entourage will be supported initially.
We also expect new PIM applications that support Tiger's new Sync Services
functionality, such as Now Contact and Up-to-Date 5
<http://www.nowsoftware.com/products/nudc5/new.asp>, to automatically work
with Windows Mobile devices via MSWM.
Q: Will category synchronization be supported in MSWM?
A: Yes. MSWM will support synchronizing calendar, contacts and task
categories with the PIM apps mentioned above. Specifically, Address Book
groups will sync as categories to the Contacts app on Windows Mobile devices
(and vice versa); the calendar name that iCal events and tasks belong to
will sync to the device as category names for those events and tasks (and
vice versa); Entourage categories for contacts, events and tasks will sync
back and forth with Windows Mobile devices.
Q: Will I be able to sync my Windows Mobile device with a PC and a Mac?
A: Yes. MSWM will allow users to sync their device between a Mac and a
Windows PC running ActiveSync.
Q: Will MSWM support multiple Mac OS X users on a single computer?
A: Yes.
Q: Will MSWM co-exist peacefully with The Missing Sync for other platforms,
such as Palm OS and hiptop?
A: Absolutely!
Q: How much will MSWM upgrades cost?
A: $19.95 from any other Missing Sync product. If you purchased The Missing
Sync for Pocket PC on or after April 1, 2005, then you will receive a free
upgrade to MSWM.
Q: How can I find out the moment MSWM is ready?
A: We'll make an announcement here on the list as soon as the software is
available.
