[missing-sync-pocketpc-talk] ActiveSync + Missing Sync

I have to run ActiveSync from Windows XP at times via Virtual PC in  
order to work with a couple of applications I use on the PPC and It  
seems hit and miss as to when the PPC is detected by Windows vs the  
Missing Sync connector pops up.  What is the preferred method to  
enable ActiveSync functionality when I am wanting to use it?  I'm  
probably just missing some FAQ entry by asking this, but I thought  
I'd wager a quick question.
