I'm a software developer myself and understand the difficult
situation in which these developers are placed. Don't get me wrong.
Of course I'm a user as well and definitely am hopeful for quick
fixes, especially after this feedback. If the developers would ask
us, users, for calendars and other information to perhaps mimic some
of the odd scenarios that might be a good scenario in terms of
catching some of these problematic issues that are currently causing
so much angst.

I know that I'm more than willing to beta/alpha test away and give
boatloads of meaningful feedback as I do beta test for quite a few
companies.

This tool is one of the most important tools out there right now for
mobile users and hopefully we can work through this. I would like to
see some of the more pressing issues resolved and it seems that most
folks on here want to work to see those resolved. If we can get
*some* fixes within 12-14 hours then that would be great,
particularly with its release being perhaps earlier than it should
have been, but I think a good number understand that these things do
take time. It never hurts to push and complain some when you're a
customer as the old adage goes.

12-24 hours is pushing it a little, especially if you realize it's a
huge list of problems. MarkSpace isn't a huge company like Apple
that develops everything on the platform. The Missing Sync team has
to work with a limited set of APIs between two platforms that neither
of the first party companies are willing to bridge the gap for. Just
remember how much people were pushing them to release the buggy
version earlier and how pissed off everyone got when they had to hold
back the release date. Seriously, look at the release date, when I
saw the announcement and looked at my calendar I already expected it
to have been sort of a 'panic move' because they didn't want to piss
off people even more about delaying it yet another month.

I have absolutely NO ISSUES with the software at the moment and I
suspect that if everyone started with a hard reset PDA and a clean
iCal that they wouldn't have problems either. I doubt MarkSpace had
the time to think of and then simulate the strange data that people
have that cause the program to crash. Really I'm not surprised that
the software has issues when Microsoft half-asses cross-platform
compatibility and documentation and Apple half-asses their syncing
APIs (in my opinion anyway).

If you want PocketPC syncing with minimal issues, why not get every
Pocketmac/MissingSync user to complain to Microsoft and see if
they'll do anything about it. I believe they originally promised a
version of ActiveSync for Mac.

I can tell you, as someone who has done software development,
debugging software can be the most irritating thing in the world and
users will ALWAYS find a way to break a complex program.
