Well said! I'm a LONG time Windows user (anyone remember Windows
1.0?) and Pocket PC user (PP2 2000 anyone?), and when I bought my
Mac mini back in April and decided to immediately jump on the Mac
wagon, I suspected I'd have problems with my Pocket PCs and the Mac.
I was resigned to either continuing to synchronise with my Windows
laptop (that belong to my company) or synchronising with my Linux
box. At the time I bought my Mac mini, I still owned a Palm device
and bought MS for Palm and it worked perfectly. Based on that, when I
saw that MS for WM was coming, I waited, having confidence that Mark/
Space would put out a decent product.

I emptied my iCals and backed up my PIMs on the handheld prior to my
first sync (since all my data was on the handheld anyway). I then
synchronised my empty iCal to my PDA letting it overwrite the PDA
database, essentially emptying it as well. I then restored just the
PIMs on my PDA, did another sync and voila! All data was in sync in
both places.

Since then, I now routinely synchronise between my Windows laptop and
my Mac mini with no problems and no data loss.

So the program DOES work for at least some of us. At any rate, the MS
participants here have shown that they do listen and that they are
aware of and trying to fix problems. And don't forget all those who
were complaining about having to wait an extra month.

I don't know how big MS is, but I suspect they only have a handful of
developers there, and I don't even want to think about the problems
they must face in dealing with two large and probably not fully
cooperative entities - MIcrosoft and Apple.

Personally, I expect that they will iron out most of the bugs, and at
least for me, they've delivered a functioning product.
