[missing-sync-pocketpc-talk] Alpha Software

12-24 hours is pushing it a little, especially if you realize it's a
huge list of problems. MarkSpace isn't a huge company like Apple
that develops everything on the platform. The Missing Sync team has
to work with a limited set of APIs between two platforms that neither
of the first party companies are willing to bridge the gap for. Just
remember how much people were pushing them to release the buggy
version earlier and how pissed off everyone got when they had to hold
back the release date. Seriously, look at the release date, when I
saw the announcement and looked at my calendar I already expected it
to have been sort of a 'panic move' because they didn't want to piss
off people even more about delaying it yet another month.

I have absolutely NO ISSUES with the software at the moment and I
suspect that if everyone started with a hard reset PDA and a clean
iCal that they wouldn't have problems either. I doubt MarkSpace had
the time to think of and then simulate the strange data that people
have that cause the program to crash. Really I'm not surprised that
the software has issues when Microsoft half-asses cross-platform
compatibility and documentation and Apple half-asses their syncing
APIs (in my opinion anyway).

If you want PocketPC syncing with minimal issues, why not get every
Pocketmac/MissingSync user to complain to Microsoft and see if
they'll do anything about it. I believe they originally promised a
version of ActiveSync for Mac.

I can tell you, as someone who has done software development,
debugging software can be the most irritating thing in the world and
users will ALWAYS find a way to break a complex program.
