Bingo! We have confirmed a problem synchronizing "Read Only" calendars! For
now try disabling any read only calendars in the iCal plugin settings and
then sync.
Read only calendars would include the "Birthday" calendar that gets created
when you enabled "Show Birthdays Calendar" in the iCal prefs, and any
published calendars that you subscribe to.
We are working on a fix for this problem and will notify the list when a fix
is available.

Ken,
I have an HP Jornada 658 and my iCal calendars (5 including the
birthday calendar) are all included in a group calendar. I don't have
an issue with syncing or with duplicates. Does the fact that it is
included in a group folder with calendars that are read and write make
a difference?
