I cannot get my Pocket PC to connect with my Mac. Sometimes the Pocket
PC initiates contact but the Mac does nothing at all, and sometimes
neither device does anything. The log files show nothing. For several
months sync worked fine, and then I had disconnect issues for a month
or so. Now I have no luck connecting my device at all. I have gone
through the troubleshooting steps from the knowledgebase, as outlined
below:
1) Please verify that you have at least an owner name, device name and
email address entered into the device's owner information screen. Try a
soft reset on the device and then try connecting again. Also, make sure
to update the device list to include support for new devices.
This has all been done, and all information is up-to-date and correct.
2) Internet Connection
An internet connection is present.
3) Verbose Logging
The log file is completely empty.
4) HUB
My cradle is plugged directly into the Mac. I have tried all three USB
ports.
5) Cradle/Device Connectors
I have tried and tested both my cradle and the USB sync cable. The sync
cable works fine with Windows PCs, and both cradle and cable worked
fine on my Mac when I tested my device with the PocketMac software. I
have since removed PocketMac according to your instructions.
6) Firewall
I have no firewall present.
7) Pocket Mac
I have completely and thoroughly followed the instructions to remove
PocketMac and reinstall Missing Sync.
8) Create a Proxy exception
I have created this Proxy exception.
9) Re-install Missing Sync
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Missing Sync as two
different Admin users, as well as using the Root account.
10) Logitech Drivers
I have removed the logitech drivers as instructed.
11) Change the Mac’s Host Name
I have changed my Mac's host name twice.
12) Connect with other computers
My Pocket PC syncs just fine with other computers.
13) Install under a different login
I have tried Missing Sync under two different Admin accounts as well as
the Root account.
Last, but not least, I have also performed an "Archive and Install"
reinstallation of OS X on my machine, and then installed all Apple
updates. I followed this by going through all the troubleshooting steps
again. This came to no avail.
