[missing-sync-pocketpc-talk] Difficulty Synching

A friend gave me his Compaq iPaq Pocket PC. He also ordered me a copy of
Missing Sync (version 1.0.4). I loaded it onto my Mac (running OS 10.2.8). I
made sure I had the latest versions of iSync, iTunes, iCal, and iPhoto. When
I put the iPaq into the cradle I got a little dialog box identifying me, the
brand name ³Pocket_PC and the brand type ³Compaq iPaq H3900.² But I was not
asked to enter a serial number and the buttons for Mount, Install file and
Disconnect were grayed out.

Can anyone tell me what I¹m doing wrong?
