Not sure what happened when you send email to support, they may still
be looking into it. It's perhaps a coincidence that the discussion came
up on this board.
There really is no choice of com ports on a Mac that I am aware of.
On the PDA menu bar at the top do you see two arrows or two arrows with
an X next to them? When the bluetooth connection is active and talking
to the Mac correctly they should look the same as when connected by
USB.

When you choose the activesync option, are able to see the Mac's
bluetooth connection as I described? Another option to try, which will
help test this is to go back into the PDA's bluetooth manager, choose
NEW and then CONNECT. Now choose the first item called "Explore a
Bluetooth device" and press NEXT. In the next box where it says DEVICE,
tap the Picture of the PDA with ? on it. You should now be presented
with the Bluetooth Browser where you select your Macintosh. Having done
that you will get a box called SERVICE SELECTION and you should choose
OBEX FILE Transfer, which you select and press next.
If you don't see the OBEX FILE TRANSFER, go to the Apple bluetooth
preferences, click the FILE EXCHANGE tab and check the settings. The
first item "Receiving Items" I have set to prompt for each file and
then at the bottom I have the browse files button checked. On the
settings page I have "discoverable" checked, and "status in menu bar"
checked. Since you are having problems it is often useful to have "Open
setup checked as well".
Once that shortcut is created you will have a link called OBEX File
transfer. Double tap that and your PDA should connect to the Mac and
display the contents of your documents folder.
I should point out that if you drop the bluetooth connection, you will
need to press the reset button on the IPAQ. I don't know why, but I've
found it is often the only way.
Beyond this point, you will need to provide more details because I am
just going through the steps I use. We need to know how far you get and
whether you can communicate well enough to activate file transfer. The
issue is whether the problem is bluetooth or missing sync.
It has been a while since I used bluetooth with missing sync because I
am currently using PocketMac Pro 3 on my home machine. If all else
fails and you desperately need Bluetooth syncing, you could try
PocketMac Pro. It was annoying to spend extra money, but but some of
its features are a little more robust than Missing Sync, particularly
when syncing categories and backing up. Having said that, Missing Sync
is a much cleaner application because of its integration with iSync,
and works better for large file uploads and in conjunction with Virtual
PC.
