You are subscribed to the disussion group, this is why you are getting
these messages. At the bottom of each message you should find
instructions on how to unsubscribe. I suggest you do that if you do not
understand the difference between discussion and support, it will save
you a lot of confusion.
You might also want to consider punctuation and complete sentences when
submitting messages, I find it usually leads to more helpful responses
from people. In order for people to help, we need a more detailed
report than "I've spent a long time ....." because without knowing the
symptoms, we cannot prescribe a cure. You could have spent a long time,
but neglected the fact that your computer or PDA does not have
bluetooth activated.
Bluetooth on the Mac must be paired with bluetooth on the PDA. Have you
done that? Open Bluetooth preferences and check that your PDA is listed
under devices, if not, then you need to go through the process of
pairing the two by clicking the pair new device button. If it is
listed, click the list item and check in the box below. It should say
something like:
Device Name: Pocket_PC
Device Address: 00-07-3f-76-5y-d8
Device Type: Computer
Device Services:
Paired: Yes
Favorite: Yes
Connected: Yes
When the PDA bluetooth connection is established, the "Connected" item
at the bottom will say yes. If the PDA bluetooth connection is not
established, the "Connected" item will say no. If it says no, then
check that you have the PDA turned on and the bluetooth connection
turned on. Then select "Bluetooth Manager" from the bluetooth icon in
the bottom right. On the page that opens choose "New" and then
"connect." From the list on the next page that comes up choose
"Activesync via bluetooth" and press NEXT at the bottom of the page.
Read and understand the next page and then press NEXT again and then
NEXT again. You should now have a screen with a box that says "Device"
and inside it probably says "<No device Selected>".TAP THIS BOX. If
your Mac has a functioning bluetooth connection, it will be listed
here. If not, the problem is your Mac bluetooth. Tap the computer that
is listed and you will be prompted with a shortcut creation page. I
usually select the secure encrypted connection box and then you just
press FINISH.
The PDA will then make a bluetooth connection to the Mac and you will
be asked to pair the two. Follow the instructions for pairing and you
will be all set.
If you have Missing Sync correctly set for bluetooth connections, the
PDA will then automatically make a syncing connection as soon as the
bluetooth connection is made.
