I have great success Activesyncing my iPaq 3955 with VPC6.0.1 running XP Home 
and 98SE, 100% syncs every time.  Try these tips for Activesyncing in VPC I 
posted to the defunct Connectix forums that I archived here:

BTW, I have read here or elsewhere that MissingSync PPC/PocketMac may 
interfere with USB VPC Activesyncing.
