This doesn't explain why you were not asked to register, but sounds  
similar to the description of a problem where the device connects and  
then quickly disconnects

If you were never asked to register, it is likely that the device is  
not making a connection. Check for firewalls and if Web Proxy (HTTP) is  
enabled.
