[missing-sync-pocketpc-talk] Sync with 802.11b - how to monitor progress?

I'm having some problems with sync-ing over an 802.11b LAN, and in particular
can't monitor progress from my pocket pc (iPaq 4150) or tell when it's
completed.

I found that, when I do a sync from ActiveSync it will connect to Missing Sync
on the mac. I then set Missing Sync to automatically run iSync on connection,
so that I can trigger the iSync entirely from the pocket pc.

The problem is that ActiveSync does not show any progress, and does not finish
the connection once the sync is completed. I have to check the mac to see if
the sync is finished, and then manually stop ActiveSync on the iPaq or
disconnect in MissingSync on the mac. As a result the sync doesn't update the
"Last Sync" entry in ActiveSync. This sort of spoils the point, since I want to
be able to sync and back things up regularly whenever I'm in range, rather than
having to check at the mac.

Is there any way to tell from the iPaq end how a sync is proceeding, or to
update the last sync entry?
