Peter,
I went through this at the beginning. It's frustrating, but it's not
all MissingSync's fault. Microsoft chose to implement a simple "Sync"
operation as a complete network stack, which means MissingSync is
basically doing all the work of an Airport card just to get your
address book.
I know you say the port is open - but you might want to turn off the
firewall altogether for now, just to make sure. Second, I was having a
problem with my i700 yesterday that turned out to be the PPC's fault -
reseting the PPC solved the problem, you might want to try that.
