[missing-sync-pocketpc-talk] Bluetooth STILL doesn't work - that's on 2 different devices!! :(

Have you connected at least once via USB? If not try doing this first before you try Bluetooth - for some reason you need to get the PocketPC connected via USB before it will acknowledge the connection. I found this to be true for both HP5555 and HP2215. Note this will also work if you connect via Activesync first - the intial conncetion must be via USB.
