Kim,
Don't give up. I too don't see how it would be a lot of trouble to
forward, cc, or bcc your message to the list.
But I also understand the other side of the coin.
I run an IT Helpdesk at Valdosta State University, a regional unit of
the University System of Georgia. One of the main ways that we have of
getting helpd requests is via a mailing list.
Sometimes the posts fall through the cracks. There is always more to do
when you are involved in tech support than there is time to do it.
If only everyone who ever had a problem with tech support calls being
missed could see how overworked the support staff sometimes is, then it
might be a little easier.
Don't forget: sometimes user support from the real world, as opposed to
a lab situation, is more useful anyway. The developers can only test
the product so much before they have to release it. There will always
be bugs and things that just weren't high enough on the totem pole to be
fixed in the current release.
