[missing-sync-pocketpc-talk] Panther problem

I upgraded from 10.2.8 to Panther with no problems with MS connection to iPAQ
HP5555 (USB port is flaky so can't check this with this device) but HP2215
seems to work fine via USB. So can't help with the issue multiple people seem to
have with is. I did have the latest versions of iSync and iCal installed
prior to upgrade (could this be part of the issue?).

Outside of that I am seriously tempted to try, dare I say this, PocketMac
again. A friend with the same configuration as me (PB G4 Ti, iPAQ 5555 and
Entourage) is running PocketMac v3.2 and can sync with both Apple programs and
Entourage. He is also now running Panther although PocketMac was working on 10.2.8
well, he reports he had no issues with the upgrade to Panther. Program
installs from cab and exe seems to work as well, along with syncing user definable
files (on top of normal doc directory sync) including to storage card. Web sync
and e-mail sync appears to work as well (low priority for me but). Also you
can program it to run certain applications prior to sync - not quite certain
why you would need to do this but it there. So it seems MS's competition were
spurred in to action by MS launch and now have a better product - note I have
already tested all the issues out that have plagued MS both using my PPC and his
PPC (on his PB, not brave enough to loaded on my PB yet, based on my past
experience with PocketMac). It also seems much faster than MS - part of that
maybe just the on screen feedback of progress that it gives, must time it next
time I can get on friends' PB. Utilities are also supplied for Office file
conversion but my friend has yet to test these (we both use TextMaker on PPC's).
Markspace need to solve their issues and expand the program with more
functionality (like PocketMac) otherwise business will move elsewhere.

Note: I have been very pleased with the program and support so far but the
program needs to be expanded. Only these are preventing me from making the jump
at this time.
