Thanks to the help of technical support, I was successful using Internet
sharing and accessing the Internet via my device.

BUT . . . The network admin unplugged me. He said my computer was assigning
IP addresses to other computers on the network and that users were calling
to complain that they were getting a message saying, "This IP address is
already in use."

So I turned off Internet sharing and the problem went away.

Any ideas how I can do this without messing up the network?
