[missing-sync-pocketpc-talk] Device ID How?

VPC is NOT needed for this (in fact I don't even have it). When I say 
"it should attempt to start ActiveSync", this is on the device. When 
you drop the PPC device in the cradle, it tries to make a connection 
with the desktop and this is enough for us to get the device 
information.
