[missing-sync-pocketpc-talk] Task Start Dates

This only happens when no start date is set on the PocketPC, if a start date or due date is set then its OK but in looking at this I found another problem (see later). It seem that if the Mac does not see a date it just uses something from the OS (in my case the start of the century). I think the only way to fix this would be for Missing Sync (if it can) to set the start date to the current date - this will slow the program down as I assume currently it just looks for changes and copies the parts of the record it can, it would have to check every date in the record not just the record date. To the fact the date defaults to a past date is useful - all task need timing and this reminds me to set one. The only issue here is you can't edit the dates now on PocketPC - the boxes are gone

As to the other issue - iCal is taking dominating the sync. Let me explain;

- I generate a task in either iCal or on the PocketPC
- I sync that task
- I edit the task (delete) in iCal
- After doing this and before syncing I edit, but don't delete, the task on the PocketPC
- Next time I sync the task gets deleted even though the time of the edit on the PocketPC is after that in iCal

I have done similar in Windows in the past and the last edited record is always keep.

This means I could lose task under certain conditions. For example I delete a task on my Mac because I think its finished. I don't sync my PocketPC and go to a meeting were I'm told the task is not complete and I edit to ensure it has the new action listed in it. Next time I sync the task is deleted from both device when it really should be placed back on the Mac.

This also happens with events and only happens when they are deleted in iCal. Activesync does not work this way and therefore if this is a Mac issue any long term PocketPc user/Windows user will need to work ing new ways.

I am not cetain if this is a Mac issue or a Missing Sync issue - Brian and Scott any comments
