Missing Sync does not override the settings of the SplashPhoto  
conduit. You should simply disable the Mark/Space Photos conduit and  
use SplashPhoto's conduit.

What size are the pictures you're trying to put on your device? If  
the aspect ratio (width divided by height) is not equal to 1.5 (3:2),  
then the pictures won't fill the screen. You need to crop the photos  
using iPhoto (if you're not using SplashPhoto Desktop) or SplashPhoto  
Desktop.
