The Treos also don't have built-in Wifi. Too bad if you travel overseas and
your provider counts the bytes on your GPRS plan. Long live WiFi !!

> CLIEs don't have built in WiFi

The UX50 is, as far as I know the Palm market, **THE** perfect email machine
because of its GREAT BUILT-IN KEYBOARD. That device will stay on the market
for a long time (and deserves continued support).

If you hear around (and look at the prices) you'll still see a high demand
for the UX50. I myself bought a used one - because I could not find a palm
powered handheld as technical advanced (big horizontal screen, WiFi, great
keyboard, small formfactor).

> ...and I believe most don't ship with an email client.

Even my sloppy Clie NR70V shipped with an email client (on CD).

I want to thank you, Scott and Blaine, for your snippets of code and the
page to find the Device ID for Sony Clies. Unfortunately the page is
outdated (the newest Clie on there was the NR70).

I downloaded the little program called "PixelCheck" and extracted the code
for the UX50. I entered all into the file DeviceList as you proposed and
guess what: IT WORKS !!

So, I join Kerry Dawson as a happy camper :-)

I just don't understand why you are so hesitant to "impose" this on other
Sony Clie users. The effect of the tweak is simply that, as with MS v5.10,
an ApleAddressBook field named "E-mail" will again be recognized by
SnapperMail (and Agendus !!!) as being an Email, whereas with version 5.11
of MS it won't. Is there any downside to this ?

+++

For other Clie users on this mailing list (and perhaps for you to implement
this for future updates of MS) here's the code. PS: instead of changing the
date at the bottom I guess the file could also be locked ?!

            <dict>
                <key>DeviceID</key>
                <string>prmr</string>
                <key>Manufacturer</key>
                <string>sony</string>
            </dict>

If need be, I can provide the codes also for the Clie NZ90.

So, I have to join the chorus below:

> Thanks for all your help. Now I'm really liking the Missing Sync
