[missing-sync-palmos-talk] Email Category Question

I've been trying to keep up on this email category thread, but I  
can't seem to find the answer to a question I have.

My address book had just instantly disappeared and I had to restore  
it from an old backup (that didn't have a lot of recent changes that  
I've made).  After restoring it, I did a sync, hoping to have my  
phone (Treo 650) update everything in my restored address book.

It essentially duplicated all the email addresses.  Every entry with  
a "work" and "home" email address was duplicated with an "Email"  
category.  I've been spending the last couple days going back through  
and removing the duplicates, but I've been getting rid of the "Email"  
category instead of "home" and "work."  I'm only about 1/2 way  
through over 700 contacts, and now I'm a bit scared.

After trying to quickly digest some of these discussions, I'm worried  
that I may be using the wrong category.  Should I be putting all  
email addresses in the "Email" category instead - to get a clean sync??
