[missing-sync-palmos-talk] no internet connection, DNS failure

Hi folks, newbie here. Newbie to this list, anyway.

I have a iMac 800 MHz PowerPC G4 running OS X 10.4.6. It is on a
wired home network with a Linksys hub and a DW7000 satellite modem.
The satellite is two way, the modem has a built in DHCP server. There
is no firewall or router on the network. Our connection is NAT'ed.
The palm I'm using is a Tungsten E.

OK... I installed Missing Sync and was very pleased that it synced my
stuff without trashing it. It was great to be able to sync my Palm
with the OS X apps and my iPod! But, I am having problems getting the
internet sharing to work. All the online apps on my palm fail with a
DNS error. I tried changing the server information in Avantgo (works
fine with the conduit, btw) and VersaMail to an IP instead of a FQDN.
No joy... I get a time out error now in Avantgo and a 'check your
server info' error in VersaMail. I've also tried Eudora mail with no
luck.

I tried adding my ISP's DNS servers to the network configuration in
the Mac. I've also searched the archives back to 2005. There were
almost no mention of the internet capabilities of Missing Sync.

I do connect, according to the Network App in Palm. The missing sync
icon changes to reflect a connection. I've tried a RAS and PPP
connection. Again, no luck. I am at a loss... Any suggestion?

Thanks,
Eddie
