[missing-sync-palmos-talk] MS5.1 time zone support too aggressive?

Further to my message on Saturday, it seems that even if I change a Calendar
event on the Treo (which has the Calendar time zone option unchecked) to
have "no time zone", if I make any change to the event in iCal (which also
has time zone support turned off) and then synchronize, the Treo's event has
it's time zone changed back to that of the computer's time zone (as set in
System Preferences). Yuk.
Is there any way to overcome this?
In our case it has disastrous results. We deal regularly in changing from
Australian to US time zones, and as such the events in the Treo are jumping
around all over the place on their Calendar (jumping accurately, mind you,
but it is confusing nonetheless). Going through the trouble of manually
setting the Treo's events to no time zone is undone by a synchronization, so
it isn't the solution I thought it was.
Any help is desperately needed. I want to have events that are locked to a
time and are unchanged by any time zone changes on the Treo or computer.
Thanks,
Alberto Garcia
