[missing-sync-palmos-talk] MS 5.02 restores do not work

I have been waiting for version 5 of MS and its support for
categories for quite some time. I was one of the first people to buy
the new version when it came out and happily installed it for use
with my Treo 650. I had some initial trouble with syncing of
categories, along with other problems, but eventually I got through
them all and settled into a fairly stable routine.

Tonight, however, I ran into issues with my Treo and the result was a
hard reset that wiped all my data from my 650. I restored from a
backup and found that, while my categories transfered to my Treo, the
actual events and tasks were dumped into Unfiled, inspite of the fact
that my desktop events and tasks were still in the correct
categories. This did not make me happy. Pushing forward, I decided to
select "Overwrite handheld with desktop data". Surely this would
force the device to take the data in the assigned categories from
iCal/Address Book.

After syncing I found that, not only did the categories disappear
from my device and all the events/tasks were still in Unfiled, but
now my desktop data was dumped into Unfiled! How could this happen?
I'm now faced with hours of resetting all my data on my desktop and
crossing my fingers and hoping that it will restore properly on my
device -- just like I was unsuccessful doing the last time. I didn't
buy this software to spend as much time as I have restoring and
correcting data. Between my initial 2 weeks of pain and this
unfortunate event, I really have to wonder how "final" this software
really is. My time is worth far more than the $40 I spent on this
software. If MS was free, I would have little to complain about. But
since I did pay for this software to perform the tasks that it claims
to provide, I do feel it unreasonable to be in the situation I
currently find myself in. FIX YOUR SOFTWARE!
