[missing-sync-palmos-talk] syncing treo 650/missing contacts & events after sync?

I am running on a Mac PB G4 with a new 650 1.3 software, will try to  
to the update patch soon to 1.4, but I do a bluetoothe sync and it  
takes at least 35mins. first of all, is that normal? secondly,  
various contacts are then unchecked in the folder on the laptop and  
removed off the phone, despite rechecking these contacts, then  
various events loaded on the computer or on the phone don't get  
synced?  I can't find a pattern for this.
