You said "Hold the 'Option" key down while you click on the Calendar
settings". Where? In iCal? I don't see Calendar settings at all.

Yes, I did set it to "Desktop Overwrites Handheld". And everything ends up

I've found that using that setting doesn't always work. In fact, I'm right
now having to do a 'Reset' sync to fix my dupes which should guarantee that
the iCal settings are the master and the Treo will be a copy (as best as
possible). You do not have to reset your entire Treo just to fix the
calendar DB.
Steps:
1) Hold the 'option' key down while you click on the Calendar settings.
This will reveal the 'Advanced Options' button in the settings sheet.
2) Click on the 'Unregister Sync Client' and click OK.
3) Set sync settings to only sync the Events and start the sync.
4) A dialog popup will ask if you really want to unregister the calendar
sync client. Be sure to check the 'Delete All' checkbox before you click
OK. Otherwise, you may still have dupes.
I have found this method works well. I'm afraid I have to use it often as
my Treo and iCal frequently get out of sync and can't be recovered any other
way :-( .

Missing Sync took a while, but it did sync all the events, but in duplicate.
Every event in my iCal is in my Treo twice now.
Was your initial sync set up as a "desktop overwrites handheld"? This is
recommended in the instructions. If your iCal entries are uncorrupted, you
can still do that my double clicking on the conduit name in MS and selecting
the overwrite setting. That should get the calendars in sync.
