And that is really how you want to do it - install MS and do a backup - since the Palm conduit backup folder is a royal mess, and will not result in a functional restore after the flash update. I did it just like Barry (the installer would not let me do it without a hard reset) and it worked all fine, took less than an hour total (including fighting with the Palm installer)
