[missing-sync-palmos-talk] Duplicate contacts

I have just bought a Treo 650 to use with Mac OSX 10.3.9 (Panther), and 
while the first syncs with Palm OS went fine; since buying "Missing 
Sync",  now,  every time I sync, I duplicate hundreds of contacts! From 
around 800-900 original contacts, I ended up with 2,900! (Some 
appearing five times). I deleted all the extra ones on my desktop, told 
Missing Sync to overwrite the handheld, but when I next synced I was 
back to over 2,000 contacts! Help...
I'm quite new to this, so any relatively easy to understand advice 
would be much appreciated. many thanks.
