Because time zone support is off, it comes over at 6pm because that  
is the actual start time of the event record - 6pm GMT. You're at  
GMT-5, so you *see* 1pm.

We're looking into a way to better deal with issues like you're  
seeing. If you turn on time zone support in our conduit, you'll see  
the event on the palm at 1pm with a time zone offset in parentheses.  
I just tested that behavior.
