How many events do you have in iCal? We've had some beta testers with  
 > 5000 events and the sync took a LONG TIME.

Yes, memory will be consumed - we try to keep it as clear as  
possible, but with a large number of records you'll find that it  
increases quickly. How much RAM do  you have?
