From the sound of it, the administrator of the Exchange server has
turned off the creation of records - or at least the wholesale
overwriting of the data.
Maybe you could discuss options with the administrator. A different
calendar, just for synchronization, could be an option.
If you find out anything, I'm sure many here would be interested in
hearing about it.
