Not at all. I have a TiBook and a Clie (t615c), and it's really easy with MS.
No hassles here! But then, I only back up to the Mac; I do all data 
entry on the Clie (aside from an occasional data file like a 
photograph). I don't use iCal or any of those silly iApps, so for me 
it is ridiculously simple. :)

You might want to provide your own list of what you need to do, 
because it might not be as bare-bones as what I do.
