[missing-sync-palmos-talk] hotsync issue; Mac OS X, Treo 650, MS 4.0.4

I had that problem when I first got my Treo 650.  The only way I could 
get it from resetting was to do a hard reset (see the book for 
instructions).   Fortunately, everything was backed up.
