Try this: instead of setting up the event in iCal as an all-day event  
that begins on July 1 and ends on July 4 (for example), set it up as  
an all-day event on July 1 that repeats every day until July 4.  You  
don't get the nice banner that goes across each day (it becomes a  
single event on each day) but at least when you sync it will show up  
every day on your Palm.  This is the only workaround I've found.
