[missing-sync-palmos-talk] Missing Sync working diffrently than Palm Hot Sync

Anyone-

I find that for Calendar or Date Book uses, Missing Sync does not work
in a logical way the same way that Palm's Hot Sync does. For example
when using Palm Hot Sync, any change to either the PDA or the Palm
Desktop becomes the preferred change which is then copied to the other
utility. If you change a record on the PDA it becomes changed on the
Desktop. If it is changed on the Desktop it becomes changed on the PDA.
This to me is the defnition of synchronization and it is quite efficient.

Missing Sync works in a different way. If a record is changed on the PDA
or the Palm Desktop then the program always asks which one to keep as
the wanted change after making a copy of the new entry and saving it on
both the computer and the PDA along with the old entry. Then one has to
go in and delete the unwanted entry on the PDA and the Palm Desktop. I
find this quite time consuming and annoying. Why does Missing Sync do
this? Who at Mark Space thought such a cumbersome arrangement was an
improvement over Palm Hot Sync?

Sincerely,

Steve Shirey
